The Project
Sage BEC worked for BAM Construction on the purpose-built IM Headquarter campus in Solihull. The Gate building is fitted with a Kingspan Quadcore carrier system, which is clad in CorTen rainscreen panels – a feature that we have used before at Golden Square in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. CorTen steel is designed to naturally patina on site creating a rusty contemporary aesthetic to the panels.
To the roof of the building, we installed areas of IKO Armourplan single ply roof as well as inverted IKO PermaTec hot melt roof, which gives the building an array of elegant roof terraces, including outdoor seating, a herb garden and even a putting green.
On The Rock building, which is home to Christian Vision charity, we installed an inverted hot melt roof & the cycle shelter is topped with a single ply roof & clad in Kingspan Benchmark Rainscreen. On the gatehouse at the entrance to the scheme we installed a Kingspan Quadcore carrier system with powder coated aluminium rainscreen cassettes; and to the Academy Building, we installed the hot melt roofing underneath the green roof and fitted the CorTen façade.
The project delivered a unique and contemporary working environment at a fantastic geological location in the West midlands, and was a pleasure for Sage to be a part of.

Sage BEC takes responsibility for the greenhouse gases we cannot avoid emitting by using the Climatecare offset calculator to determine how many tonnes of CO2 we produce in our trading year. To achieve Carbon Neutral status we pay Climatecare to reduce the equivalent amount of CO2 in another part of the world by investing that money into emission reduction projects replacing fuel hungry inefficient technologies with efficient low-carbon technologies in developing countries. The Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT )is a leading information provider and trainer in the field of building envelopes and glazing. They provide a wide range of advice and information to the industry with the assistance of its members, and through our own membership, we hope to not only gain improved technical information and knowledge relating to building envelopes, but use our own experience to share this information with others in the industry, creating a much improved workflow.

ISO 14001 is focussed around the environmental aspects of the organisation, with the core principle of continual improvement being the driving force behind environmental development. Through achieving certification of this standard; Sage BEC has illustrated a comprehensive environmental plan which is integrated into our principles as a company, and will continue to feature heavily in our progressive growth within the Roofing & Cladding Industry.
